Debra has been a part of L.A. Dance teaching staff for the past 18 years. Debra earned a B.F.A. cum laude in Dance Performance from the City University of New York, Brooklyn College Campus. Debra was a student of the highly respected dance program run by Artistic Director, June Lewis; a former member of the Martha Graham Dance Company. Debra was chosen to become a member of the dance program repertory company, The Brooklyn Dance Theatre. This company performed throughout the tri-state area, giving theatrical dance performances and lecture-demonstrations. It was here; Debra began choreographing theatrical modern dance pieces for the Gershwin Theatre. Debra continues to choreograph today with her influences in dance based in modern and lyrical. Debra was a member of The Brooklyn Dance Theatre for six years. A member of June Lewis & Company for two performing seasons and a member of Joan Miller’s Dance Players through three tours. Debra’s professional credentials include stage performances at The Williamson Theatre in several children’s productions including The Wizard of Oz and Peter and the Wolf. One of her many accomplishments in television are with David Wolper Productions for The Liberty Weekend Closing Ceremonies. Mrs. Nicolosi has also contributed much of her talent and performance experience to local theatre, and was a welcome member to Center Stage Productions performances of No No Nanette. Debra also was the owner/director of her own company during this time. She created, financed and successfully formed SPOTLIGHT DANCERS an entertainment company. Debra also designed the costumes and props for her dancers. Her Spotlight Dancers performed at weddings, corporate functions, and/or social functions/gatherings that would require professional dancers and entertainers. We are so blessed to have Debra at L.A. DANCE. Our very young students are fortunate to have her as an instructor. Our competition students are more than lucky to have her choreograph their solo, duet and trio routines. Debra is also an asset in helping to develop their large production routines. Miss Debra’s forte’s are many. Her driving force however, is her love of dance, her love of life and her love of the children. You will not find a better role model for your child. Miss Debbie teaches tap, jazz, creative movement, lyrical and modern dance.
